PENELOPE CRUZ X INTERVIEW MAGAZINE

Just in time for the holiday season, Interview Magazine has given us another gift that we can all be thankful for in the form of Penelope Cruz gracing the cover of the December issue. Cruz, who will next been seen starring opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in the NINE, was interviewed by co-star and Academy Award winner Marion Cortillard who also happens to be a personal favorite of mine.

Also, check out the trailer for NINE, directed by Rob Marshall, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cortillard, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, and Kate Hudson. NINE will be released in theaters on December 25th.

Gentlemen Of Bakongo: The African Dandies

"In photographer Daniele Tamagni new photo book, he explores the phenomenon of the African sapeurs, a clique of extraordinarily dressed dandies from the Congo. In the midst of war and abject poverty, these men dress in tailored suits, silk ties, and immaculate footwear. Sapeur comes from la SAPE, short for Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes, or the Society of Tastemakers and Elegant People. The SAPE, like any club, has rules of conduct and of dress; it’s centered around Brazzaville and Kinshasa, the adjacent capitals of the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo, respectively." They dress themselves in designer brands of suits and accessories are of the utmost importance to Sapeurs – Pierre Cardin, Roberto Cavalli, Dior, Fendi, Gaultier, Gucci, Issey Miyake, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Yohji Yamamoto are their patron saints.

This is truly remarkable and interesting group of men. What makes it even more interesting is that most of these men can barely afford food, often sleep on the floor of relatives homes as the average yearly income in the Congo is less than $100 a year.

Square is about to revolutionize the way business is done. From Twitter Co-Founder Jack Dorsey, Square is an iPhone application that allows small business owners to accept credit card payment's anywhere. anytime.

With Square you are able to:

"Read payment cards from any device with an audio input jack, including your mobile phone."

EMPIRE MAGAZINE X FILM ICONS

Yes, we are well aware that this was released a few months back in the print issue of Empire Magazine but this is the first time these pictures were available online. To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the magazine, "they asked 27 stars to participate in a photo shoot and recreate some of their most iconic performances from the previous two decades, but with a slight twist: Dress stylishly".

MILA KUNIS X BLACK BOOK | DEC 09'

Mila Kunis is featured in the latest issue of Black Book. I've never been much of a Mila Kunis fan, but the photos and article are making an impression on me - so much so that I had to post after a long hiatus from the blogging world. I've posted a few pics. Please make sure to read the article (linked at the bottom of the post) for a peek into Mila's world. It's quite interesting.

Mila will be co-starring along side Natalie Portman in the feature film Black Swan, slated for release in 2010. In the movie Portman and Kunis play ballerina's. Not enough? It's been reported that there's also a kissing scene between the two. I just pre-ordered my tickets...
