HALL OF FAME X NEW ERA | TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA

Hall of Fame takes the title of William Friedkin’s 1985 film, “To Live and Die in L.A” as inspiration for their latest New Era fitted offering. The hat comes in either red or black with LA up front in the movie’s blood-splattered font. “To Live and Die in” is seen wrapping around the four back panels in oversized block letters. Available this weekend in-store and online at Hall of Fame.

Personally, the phrase reminds me more of the Tupac song...regardless, the hats are sick, I'll take one in black.

BRAD PITT X WIRED MAG: BAD ADVICE

In next months issue of Wired Magazine, Brad Pitt takes sometime out of his busy day to dish some very bad advice for the magazine's "How To Behave" section. "The "Inglourious Basterds" star offers words of wisdom about posting photos of your wife's butt online, referring to Ashton Kutcher's famously TMI Tweet of Demi Moore's derriere. "Don't take a picture of your wife's butt. That's silly," Pitt said. "Take pictures of other people's wives' butts." Other advice includes, always lie online about everything and if your going to talk on the phone in the bathroom, text don't call." Pitt says "Just be sure you don't hit the wrong button and end up putting a photo of your junk on Twitter. Trust me, you don't want those followers."
For more words of wisdom from Mr.Pitt, make sure to check out the August issue of Wired Magazine.

Pamplona: Running With The Bulls

Ever since grade school, when I first heard about the yearly tradition of running with the bulls at the Festival of San Fermin in Pamplona, Spain , it has been a dream of mine to participate. I was all set to go last year but unfortunately the dates didn't work out with the rest of my trip. I still definitely plan on attending this fascinating and unique cultural tradition at some point in the future but until then I guess I have to rely on things such as the photography below to quench by running-with-the-bulls thirst. More pictures and info could be found HERE. Who's down to roll next year?

A-Z OF CHANCE ART EXHIBIT | EINE | CARMICHAEL GALLERY

ThisBeDavid's previous post about the Carmichael Gallery's current exhibit "The A-Z of Change" got me so excited that I had to go and share my experience with the readers of DeluxeGravy.

With a combination of vividly bright colors and graphic photos, artist Eine succeeds in blending images of struggle with colors of triumph. The art is truly amazing, please see photos below.

"
Vandal, graffiti writer, street artist, fine artist, Eine has over twenty years experience of drawing a crowd. The former master printer at UK publishing house Pictures On Walls takes deceptively simple typography to a new level with iconic lettering which graces storefront shutters and city walls throughout the world. " - Carmichael Gallery

Eine hit up a few locations in LA with his "iconic storefront lettering" graffiti, which included a few blocks of Melrose. He also hit up one of my neighborhood spots at Union on La Brea. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled next time your in the area.

Carmichael Gallery is located at 1257 N. La Brea Avenue, on the SW corner of La Brea and Fountain, West Hollywood, CA 90038. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and by appointment. For more information, please visit their website www.carmichaelgallery.com.

Upcoming Shows at Carmichael:

Thursday August 6, 2009 - In the front gallery "Celebrity Will Eat Itself", a solo exhibition of new work by Guy Denning. In the rear gallery "A Mirror Distorted" a group show featuring Andrea Michaelsson from Btoy, Candice Tripp, Cherri Wood, and Pam Glew.

JUDITH LEIBER | CLUTCH HANDBAGS

WINDFLOWER

CUPCAKE

BIG APPLE

SUMMER DAYS

PRINCE CHARMING

These beautiful clutch handbags made by Judith Leiber run from about $4,000 - $6,000. From far they don't look special, but when looking at the above pics you realize the intricate detail and multicolor crystals that went into these pieces of art (in my opinion).

If you got dinner at the White House coming up, this is perfect. Check out the entire collection or buy them HERE...if your bank account permits.

SOUR | HIBI NO NEIRO | MUSIC VIDEO

There are 2 things about this video that I know and 2 that I don't:

I don't know who sings it.
I know this was very difficult to make and took a while.
I don't know what they are saying.
I know its probably one of the most creative uses of web cams I've ever seen.

ENJOY!

I like the song. Does anyone know what language it's in?

Zooey Deschanel: Love of My Life

Probably the most awesome thing about having your own website is that you can pretty much post what ever the hell you want. So this my friends, is one of them. This post is not for you, or your co-worker, or your uncle, this one is for me. All me. I have been following(and falling in love) with Zooey since I first saw her in Cameron Crowe's ALMOST FAMOUS. After spending the past few years beefing up her resume with parts in a handful of memorable and forgettable movies, Deschanel will finally arrive in the spotlight with what is sure to be this summer's breakout hit 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. After reading the script and viewing the trailer(below), this movie is easily one of my most anticipated movies of the year. Check out the trailer below for yourself as well as an interview and photo shoot for this months GQ HERE. 500 DAYS OF SUMMER will be in theaters nationwide on this coming Friday, July 17th 2009.

MICHAEL JACKSON TOYS

Since MJ's unfortunate passing last month the market has been flooded with plenty of useless merchandise to honor the legendary pop star and cultural icon. When I saw these action figures by Canyon Crest I actually thought they were pretty clean. The details on these action figures and the faces of Mike are brilliantly done. They wont be available until August 09 & run for about $55, get them HERE . THRILLAAAAAAA

PING PONG DOOR | TOBIAS FRANZEL

From designer Tobias Franzel, this unique creation doubles as both a door and ping pong table. Perfect for ping pong lovers (like me) that either don't have enough space in their pad, or don't enough $$$ (also like me). I wonder if this table is regulation size for Beer Pong...Anyways, I couldn't find ordering/pricing on this, but its still pretty cool none-the-less.
