WHEELHOUSE BIKES | SANTA BARBARA

I hope everyone out there had a great 4th of July! In celebration of this great nation's birthday, DeluxeGravy took a road trip out to Santa Barbara, CA (I say road trip because it took us 3 hrs in traffic from LA).

While there, we visited our old friends Evan & Erik who recently opened The Wheelhouse in May 09' in Downtown SB. This one-of-a-kind bicylce shop is talk of the town & quickly becoming a staple in Santa Barbara's local community. Wheelhouse provides a friendly and relaxed environment to the casual cyclist. Make sure to visit while your up there! 528 Anacapa St.

"The bike is a fun, efficient, and sensible mode of transportation that focuses on the importance of the journey and inspires feelings of joy and freedom in all riders. We offer practical cycling alternatives to your daily transportation needs. With a full line of load-carrying, cargo, and commuter bikes, our mission is to promote the pleasures and benefits of lifestyle cycling. Life’s a journey, enjoy the ride." - Wheelhouse

Whether you need a bike, accessories, friend, or just a old-fashioned handshake; Evan & Erik would be happy to help you.

Wheelhouse is well known for their unique commuter dutch bikes such the Backfiets (above).

Their weekly Sunday evening movie nights and frequent Burger Bus visit's are becoming all the rage.

The Opafiets. Spectacular Dutch engineering.

Awesome Wheelhouse mural in the patio area.

Jamis + Xtracycle Kit = fun for everyone.

Free handshake with the purchase of a Wheelhouse T-Shirt! (Available for a limited time only)

Wheelhouse took this bad boy down State St for the 4th of July parade. If you like attention as much as I do, take a ride on the McClintock 7-Seater...you won't regret it.

Don't even think about it...
