After his debut solo album, Black on Both Sides, Mos Def's next two album's have been somewhat of a commercial disappointment. There's been a lot of excitement for Mos Def's new album, The Ecstatic, which Mos has been working on for a few years. I've been a fan of Mos Def since I started listening to hip-hop back in the days of BlackStar with Talib Kweli (who is also featured on the track "History"). I've listened to a few of the new tracks and must say that Mos Def has definately come full circle back to his notable style.
His entire album is available to listen now on his Myspace page HERE. Check out "Life In Marvelous Times" & "Quiet Dog" which are slated to be the first two singles off the album.
Be sure to look for Mos Def on Late Night with David Letterman tonight (6/8) and Jimmy Falon with The Roots tomorrow (6/9).
