Your Neighborhood Cemetery Movie Theater

Arclight. IMAX. The Grove. The Bridge.  Sure these fine theater establishments provide for a quality and comfortable movie going experience and for almost $14 bucks a ticket they should.  I for one listed my secondary place of residence on my IRS forms as the Hollywood Arclight.  But if you want a truly entertaining and unique experience, then we highly suggest you check out the Cinespia film screenings taking place each Saturday night at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Every week they choose a new movie to screen based on previous suggestions from movie goers and then project the film on a big white wall inside the cemetery.  Recently screened films include FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, COOL HAND LUKE, and PSYCHO.

The rules for enjoying a night at the cemetery are pretty simple: food and drinks (both alcoholic and non) are allowed, as are pillows, blankets, and low chairs. Bringing a tall chair will result in endless amounts of heckling, so don't say we didn't warn you. Until the movie starts at 8:30, watch the sun set behind the palm trees, listen to the tunes spun by various dj's, and if you get really bored -- look around for the graves of Greta Garbo, Mel Blanc, Johnny Ramone and John Huston.  Admission is a $10 donation and it costs $5 to park on cemetery grounds.
